Jim, showing his grit and finesse on a pair of sheep

SlashJ JJ

Few dogs have impressed me quite like JJ. From the start, he has shown an exceptional willingness — steady, easy in his nature, and yet his drive and bravery are unmatched. He is by Jesse, and out of Sarah, who is also the dam of Ash, another recent standout. JJ is just entering his Nursery year and is already making his mark, winning several Nursery classes and holding his own in Open competition as well.

JM Jess

JM Jess or Jesse has produced more successful offspring than can easily be counted, among them SlashJ JJ, (see above). He has a gift for passing on willingness, drive, and bravery — qualities that show up consistently across his offspring. This video speaks for itself. Jesse currently belongs to James Butler's High Roller Stockdogs.

SlashJ Ash

From a young age, Ash showed raw talent, intensity, sensitivity, and heart. Ash works both cattle and sheep, with a careful, quiet way about him that keeps livestock relaxed and moving easily. He is a proven producer with a growing number of successful offspring just now entering competition. He has consistently risen to the top throughout his career as a trail dog while also being my go-to on the ranch lately for all my tough cattle work.

Monster

Few dogs have a story quite like Monster. The son of my two-time Nursery Champion Ben, Monster arrived at the ranch as a ten-month-old and went on to write one of the more unlikely chapters in this sport. Read more about him in the articles below.

Ben & Star

Ben and Star came from the same litter and went on to have remarkable careers in their own right. Ben won back-to-back USBCHA Nursery Championships, and his son Monster later earned a Meeker Classic Championship handled by Jamie Spring. Star earned Reserve Champion finishes at both Soldier Hollow and the Meeker Classic — and her story wasn't finished there. Marianne Schreeder went on with Star, and she continued her career right up to the age of 12, giving every young dog at Meeker a run for their money.

Same litter. Two very different stories.

My dogs have taken me to many championships, but my greatest joy is watching them carry someone else to the winner's circle.
